Disaster Relief with the Red Cross

  • During the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, many of those who fled found refuge in Georgia Tech's Alexander Memorial Coliseum. Our chapter volunteered our time to these people in need to help comfort them in their losses.

Partnership Walk

Run-N-Hide

  • An annual event within the Greek Community, this program invites children to campus to enjoy some trick-or-treating, and some fun games and crafts.


AIDS Walk

  • Each year Georgia sisters raise money and participate in the annual AIDS Walk held at Piedmont Park. Join our team or make a donation!


Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day March

  • A silent march is led throughout Atlanta every year in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his great achievements.


Relay for Life

  • Gamma Omega raised money and participated in Georgia Tech's annual Relay for Life event.


Community Hook-Up

  • During our Founders' Week we hosted a date auction called Community Hook-Up. We were able to raise over $500 to be donated to The Nicholas House. This organization provides struggling families with support to become self-sufficient.


Team Buzz

  • Team Buzz is a day of service held every year at Georgia Tech where individuals/teams can choose to volunteer for a variety of Atlanta-area projects.


Locks of Love

  • November '06
  • Members of the chapter donated their hair to the non-profit organization, Locks of Love. These donations are made into hairpieces for children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.


Women's Day of Service

  • March '09
  • During Women's Awareness Month, there is a day of service in which students/teams can sign up for a variety of volunteer opportunities. This past March the chapter visited a local high school to tutor the students in math and science.


Get Well Soon

  • February 29, 2008
  • Our chapter co-hosted a crafty event with the rest of the sororities of the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). We had students create "Get Well" cards to later be given to the Children's Hospital. Due to all the volunteers we were able to make over 40 cards to be given to the sick children.


Clothing Drive

  • February '08
  • Gamma Omega asked our fellow friends, Greeks, and peers to clean out their closets, and to give us their old, out-of-style clothes. Altogether we were able to donate to the Salvation Army more than 100 pounds of clothes.


Bingo/Loteria Night

  • October 5, '08
  • In efforts to raise money for our chapter philanthropy, ALS, we hosted a Bingo/Loteria night. Individuals paid 25 cents per game board, and had chances to win various prizes.


Scarecrows in the Garden

  • Our chapter had a lot of fun volunteering for this event hosted at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. They offered fun Fall-related crafts and games for children to interact and learn.


Thank You to our Troops

  • We invited fellow students to write "Thank You" letters to our troops fighting in Iraq.


Bone Marrow Registry

  • During our '09 LTA National Convention we participated in registering to become bone marrow donors.
